Hey Kyle! I so, so appreciate you recommending SPARRING WITH MOTHER NATURE! It's a rainy morning on the Chesapeake Bay...just finished chapter 1 and will learn more about you and Stinger over a hot cuppa. Well written. There's no place else quite like a boatyard. The Tritons have lovely lines! J

Janice, thank you so much for taking the time to read Stinger. Here on Lake Ontario it's still not sailing weather—at least not for me. I'm so glad I found your Substack. I love your take on sailing and life. I'm working on my 34 foot,1938 Herman Lund built cutter Curlew. I've always loved wooden boats. My character of Dwight in the story is based on a friend I had who faked his birth certificate and joined at age fifteen. When he describes his experiences to Gar during the war, I have been true to his words as described in the story.

Looking forward to reading more of your adventures and insights.

Thanks again.

~Kyle

Wilsky sent me and he has never steered me wrong. As a lifelong sailor and longtime boatyard lurker, Stinger struck a chord with me. Looking forward to part 2.

Very cool. I felt like I was really in the depths of the boating world. I enjoyed the descriptions and the atmosphere and when Murphy called Clark a horse's ass. Haha. And the family drama slipped in effortlessly. That's the way to do it. Great stuff, Kyle.
